Nonprofit FP&A Dashboard

Completed

Transforming nonprofit financial data into budget, cash-flow, fund, and management insights.

Project overview

A completed management reporting work sample connects a fictional financial dataset to budget, forecast, cash, and fund analysis. Explore the interactive dashboard and download the supporting Excel workbook and PDF case study.

Business question

Where is performance diverging from plan, and how much cash is available for future operations?

Assumptions / data

SYNTHETIC DATA

A fictional 12-month cash-basis teaching dataset. All revenue is collected and all expenses paid in-period; restricted and unrestricted fund balances equal cash in this simplified case. This is independent portfolio work, not an official employer project.

Inputs are labeled user assumptions or synthetic data. Calculated values and model outputs derive deterministically from those inputs. Public data must have a source before it is used.

Completed scope: interactive web reporting, a formula-based Excel workbook, and a management case study. The case uses cash-basis synthetic data. Power BI and accrual-ledger integration are optional future extensions.
